I have a really bad feeling about this and probably shouldn’t have attempted to order. The item I ordered is now out of stock and haven’t received a tracking number. Am I about to get screwed again? I’m leaving for Koh Samui in the beginning of February. Should I attempt to cancel the order? If I do I think they will ignore me. Any hints? Ask for refund or do a chargeback against the dreaded Shopify?

I went ahead and submitted a ticket for cancelation. There is no way it will get to the United States before February. #90086 -The battle has begun!

Though I suspect you’re correct with the order likely not being fulfilled before CNY/Spring festival.

I’m not trying to be a Karen but if I saw someone doing the same thing I’m doing Id say she’s a Karen. When I bought the PCL with the tracking I didn’t know that the Pimax controllers were required to use it so I was trying complete the setup. I suspect I know what is wrong but I can’t say anything because I’d be speculating and could be totally wrong.

I think the circumstances of your topic is quite valid. Though setup wise in theory the controllers shouldn’t be needed as the og Crystal had the Sim sku option without controllers.
If I am reading and understanding correctly. You bought the PCL with the lighthouse face plate?
If so in theory you should still not really need the Default cam tracked controllers to complete setup
In steamvr if your setting up there without any controllers you should in theory be able to step through the setup and enter your height manually. Or should be able after switching to Lighthouse tracking use the index/sword/Wanda to go through the play space setup.
Calvin may have delays in responding as he is traveling ATM.

You are correct I bought the headset with the lighthouse face plate because I could have sworn I saw a video that said I could use both the lighthouses and the faceplate. I might have misunderstood it.
I can pair the index controllers to Steam but I have to use the pairing and room setup via Pimax Play. In the pairing, there is no option for any controller other than the Pimax Crystal controller when set to the faceplate. In Pimax there is no longer any option to set height so it’s a crapshoot. Sometimes I’m short, sometimes I’m tall but never really bad.
It hasn’t been a really long time but I am very suspicious that the controllers are now out of stock and no acknowledgment other than the receipt of the order. I need to give them more time but they need to be forthwith.

I received a response and they are playing games. On Friday, I will do a chargeback and go through the pain and inconvenience of having to replace my CC which is on autopay with my bills. That angers the F out of me. I’m done messing around with these insolent goofballs.
If you’re using inside-out tracking without controllers, you can set up the room in Pimax Play by calibrating the center and entering the ‘height value.’
Please try reinstalling the Lighthouse faceplate and ensure the tracking mode is set to Lighthouse. The pairing should allow you to pair with the Index controllers.
If it’s still not showing, please take a few screenshots for me.
I’ll check the ticket and try to get an update on the status of the controller order.
The order can be fulfilled before February, and even during the Spring Festival, we will still have team members available to assist.

How do I pair the index controllers to the pcl?. That’s my issuie. PCL requires Pimax controllers. If you can show me the tracking number to the order and that it is showing movement then I will not do a chargeback. Otherwise I’m getting my money back. I’m not going to sit around while the controller is on the boat from Taiwon.

Do you have the Lighthouse faceplate installed? If so, please switch the tracking mode to Lighthouse.
Next, launch SteamVR, go to the “Devices” tab, select “Pair Controller,” and then press and hold both the System and B buttons on the Index controller for a few seconds to initiate the pairing process.
Alternatively, in Pimax Play, go to “Set Pair,” select “Index,” and then press and hold both the System and B buttons on the Index controller.

Pimax Play does not allow Index controllers. I have to change it to lighthouses in order to do that. What are you trying to get at? I feel like there is a language barrier here.
If I don’t get a tracking number and see movement by FRIDAY I am going to do a chargeback. I’m done messing around. Is there any way I can get in touch with customer service where they will answer and not blow smoke up my backside?

I’ve been through those. Thanks for taking the time to share those. The pages mentioned help me to not have to order the pimax controllers. All the more reason to cancel the order and scrap the faceplate to save weight. For a moment let us assume that I do not have any lighthouses. How do I pair the Index controllers to the headset?
If you have no Lighthouses the Index Controllers and other SteamVR tracked items like vive trackers are not usable… They require Lighthouses.
If you had vive tracking puck or Tundra trackers they come with dongles that you can pair them to. But not useable without the lighthouses.
From what I recall I believe there are also other options for watchman SteamVR dongles ie you can flash the steamcontriller Dongle to act as a watchman dongle.
Etee controllers might be able to be used without the SteamVR trackers but might need some extra hybrid setup ie maybe Hand tracking? As they can be used without lighthouses.

I honestly didn’t know that the pimax controllers required the lighthouses. My intension to not use the lighthouses and use the faceplate. I want to use my own pc. My son’s pc is a petri dish. I guess i will move forward with cancelling the order and get new lighthouses and use my son’s controllers until he notices them missing.
My apologies. The Pimax Crystal controllers do not require Lighthouses. They are Tracked by the cameras on the headset. Similar to Quest, Pico & Vive Focus.
Been a long day; sorry for my confusion.
The default Crystal headset uses inside-out tracking with the standard faceplate. To pair controllers, you must use the Crystal’s controllers.
If you have the lighthouse faceplate installed on the headset:
You can pair lighthouse-tracked controllers, such as the Valve Index controllers.

I will think about this while on vacation. However, I don’t think Shopify will allow me to make any more orders after the chargeback.
Even if you have initiated a chargeback, you should still be able to place orders with us.
Thanks for the info. I talked to me bank and they refuse to do the chargeback until tomorrow because I have two pending transactions on the CC I used. I will notify Pimax via my support ticket when the chargeback is complete.
