Wonder how Gimp compares
I hated GIMP. I’m normally pretty quick to pick things up, but I found it really unintuitive to use. I’d give Photopea a shot if I wasn’t already using Affinity Photo. I ended up buying it (Affinity Photo) - I think it was $50 at the time. Far cheaper than PhotoShop, but it does all I need for editing texture files, etc.
Yeah I found myself that Gimp seemed to have decent reviews but a very steep learning curve it seemed. Granted I was coming from iirc arcsoft Photo impressions 3 that came with a printer I bought king ago and was fairly easy to use
Krita is another one if I have the name correct. Looked decent and had both a desktop & tablet mode? Think also free version & a paid one?
When I get a chance will see about looking over photopea.
Have you ever tried Krita?
Looks nice… downloading now.
I just played around with Krita for about an hour. I like it.
Coming from AffinityPhoto, it was easy to jump into. The getting started guide on their website made it quick.
I’d say AP has more filters and adjustments, but Krita has plenty for my uses. Image adjustments are a bit easier to access in AP, but Krita seems more straightforward if you just want to do some painting.
Had I known about Krita a couple years ago, I could have saved myself $50.
I’m certainly a novice when it comes to these tools though, so YMMV.
Same here. I used to use iirc Arcsoft .Photo Impressions 3(it came with one of the printers I bought)
