Budget PCVR headsets

I must say this in consideration of others but I think we need a lower end budget range PCVR headset for $500 or maybe a lower price if possible. Just a simple entry point for people who don’t have a lot of money or a powerful high end pc.

Which may require a much lower resolution than 2880x2880 per eye and going back to fresnel lenses to cut down the cost and make the device cheaper to manufacture and sell to people. Also to put less strain on peoples PCs.

This may not be ideal for Pimax to do since they’re more focused on high end visual quality pcvr so if they don’t do this hopefully another company will in the future. It’s just that both the DPVR E4 and PSVR2 have some major hardware issues.

The E4’s distance between the lenses cannot be moved or adjusted and that headset has really bad speakers. The PSVR2 requires you to buy an external Bluetooth device just to connect the controllers while using it as a pcvr headset.

I’m aware something like this wouldn’t compete with the Quest 3 and I don’t expect that honestly. It’s just that I really want vr companies out there to make affordable price ranged Pcvr headsets with integrated inside out tracking so we don’t absolutely need to keep paying a separate $500 for index controllers and lighthouses and whether people want to admit it or not Pimax could be the only company willing to fill in the major lack of affordable pcvr out there.

I have the Pimax Crystal Light and I love it but reading comments from users on Reddit others seem to say that $900 is a lot of money even for a pcvr headset with inside out tracking.

An affordable convenience product you ask for.
Reasonable.
Only if it allows by scaling to high production output to earn money, otherwise it is same as oculus, meta, investment in something only cross selling benefits.
And you need some platform independent features, or even being used on different platforms.
So I am reluctant to toss this to Pimax from my point of view.
I rather would like to have a PIMAX linux client, that would be a deal breaker. I would even buy a Crystal…

Yeah it’s just we have some very cheap vr options but the PSVR2 and E4 both have some major issues.

I had the PSVR2 hooked to my PC and I didnt have to have the dongles, maybe because I have Bluetooth built in to my PC?
