Here’s what I’ve found regarding this issue using both the Crystal and 8KX headsets:
When using SteamVR 2.8.6, I noticed jittering and ghosting in the Home environment. After several restarts, the issue would temporarily disappear, but it would return after another restart.
However, with version 2.7.4, I experienced no jittering or ghosting issues at all.
The development team is aware of the problem and is working to identify the cause.
@3DVRFan I had the same problem years ago. From memory, it was firmware 299 that fixed. But this new 8KX has firmware 299.
In my support ticket, Pimax seam to never understand what I am explaining. They have not said the same as @calvinyau. So thank you, Calvin, for giving me hope.
OMG. This has fixed it!
Setting SteamVR to the prevous vertion 2.7.4 has fixed it.
Reactivating SteamVR 2.8.6 broken.
Stetting steamvr Beat 2.9.2 broken.
Setting SteamVR to very old for testing 1.7? works great too.
I hab already packed my 8kX up to send it back. Thought, as you had spent the time to give me an idea, I should at least try it first.
Now, I will not need to send it back.
Glad to hear that! I came across this issue while experimenting with SteamVR two weeks ago. What’s strange is that not every user seems to have encountered it.
