Pimax Dream Air, a worthy BigScreen Beyond Replacement?

There’s two micro OLED HMDs I am thinking about buying. The Pimax Dream Air and the Xeo Big which was announced at CES by a different VR manufacturer.

Simply due to the BigScreen Beyond having such a tiny sweetspot.
The Dream

According to this video at 3:33 https://youtu.be/d4mimPtLPrg?si=gpQZMIsKfbu7gKd8 The lenses on the Dream Air are turning out to have a better sweetspot than the Beyond Already so the final version could be even better but obviously there’ll still be glare.

The field of view might not be anything large but hopefully the sweetspot and clarity on the edges will be much better than the Beyond.

I know the softstrap was meant for portability but I don’t know how I feel about the device automatically adjusting the tightness of the strap by itself. It’s tech we won’t have any control over to adjust it however we want it.

Kinda wish we got a normal soft strap with an adjustable knob or even velcro would be acceptable.

I also kinda wish they made a tiny slot to insert a top velcro strap for the top of your head to help hold the headsets weight in place like they have with the Crystal Light

Too early to say. On paper though definitely.

Unlike BSB it supports native Res. Big screen Beyond upscales in 90hz. While imagine you have an Nvidia, pimax supports And GPUs.

Dream Air has higher res, ET, inside out tracking, iirc an option to later use SteamVR tracking. Adjustable ipd, potentially bigger FoV.

But all remains to be seen.
